Therapeutic Approach
In my private practice for psychotherapy in Bonn, I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where we can identify and work through the challenges you are facing. Depending on your concerns and personal preferences, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Schema Therapy to find an approach that fits you.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on understanding and changing patterns in thinking and behavior. This may include exploring thoughts and beliefs, practicing new skills in everyday life, or using behavioral experiments and exposure techniques when appropriate.
Schema Therapy focuses on deeply ingrained inner patterns ("schemas") that often develop in childhood and later unconsciously influence how we feel, think, and respond to others. These patterns usually develop when important emotional needs were not adequately met. To cope with the resulting distressing feelings, people develop certain responses that help in the moment but may lead to relationship problems or recurring conflicts over time. In therapy, these patterns are explored and better understood together, in order to develop new, more suitable ways of relating to yourself and others step by step.
Both approaches are collaborative and tailored to your individual needs, with a focus on activating your personal strengths and fostering a sense of self-efficacy.
